Horoz Logistics accelerated its international transportation with new routes

2025-09-25

Horoz Logistics restructured its freight forwarding services and expanded its service network by expanding into new destinations such as Romania, Spain, Portugal, Morocco, and the Turkish Republic. The company increased its daily minivan loading capacity to 25 vehicles and significantly increased its fast delivery capability in road transport.

Horoz Logistics, 100% Turkish-capitalized and traded on Borsa Istanbul, is among the leading companies in the logistics sector with its deep-rooted history and reliability. The company, which offers integrated logistics solutions to every corner of the world through its international warehousing and distribution areas as well as global agency agreements, has achieved strong growth in road transportation with its new freight forwarder structure. Mücella Salın, President of Horoz Logistics’ International Road Transportation Group, said, “We increased our operator-based profitability by 56 percent between the first half of 2024 and the same period in 2025. Digitalization, route optimization, new line investments, and our customer-focused solutions played a significant role in this success.”

WE INCREASED OUR MINIVAN LOADING CAPACITY TO 25 VEHICLES

Horoz Logistics recently restructured its freight forwarding services. How did this new structure contribute to the company’s overall logistics strategy?

When we compare the first six months of 2024 with the same period in 2025, we achieved a 56 percent increase in our operator-based profitability, one of the most critical indicators, despite global and local challenges. Our efforts to increase efficiency, the financial arrangements we made, the transformation of our team and organizational structure, and the implementation of our digitalization investments played a significant role in this success. Furthermore, route optimization, cost control, solutions we developed aligned with exporters’ cost targets, and the new lines and services we opened also made strong contributions to this growth.

One of the most important factors was that we made our investments in line with our customers’ demands to expand our service network. The new lines we opened in this direction, and the capacity increase in express deliveries in particular, are noteworthy. In addition to our existing European transports, we have also started operations in new destinations such as Romania, Spain, Portugal and Morocco. We also increased our service speed even further by increasing our daily minivan loading capacity to 25 vehicles.

All these developments have made road transport a stronger and more complementary element in our company’s end-to-end logistics operations and have significantly contributed to the operations we conduct, particularly in our international warehouses.

With the new structuring, our company has become able to offer more flexible solutions to the needs of customers from different sectors. This has created a wide range of services for both small-scale exporters and large-volume transport companies. This flexibility has enabled the development of more resilient solutions to supply chain vulnerabilities. In addition, the more effective and integrated use of all modes of transport (sea, air and road) has brought significant improvements in cost and risk management.

What operational changes stand out as part of the restructuring? What improvements have been made in service processes for customers? What role do digitalization and automation play in this new structure?

First, processes were harmonized by integrating all modes of transportation between our domestic and international warehouses. Transit times were shortened by reorganizing the connections between warehouses and distribution centers, and improvements to customs clearance processes increased operational efficiency.

More transparent information flow was achieved on the customer side. For SMEs, large exporters and e-commerce companies, applications such as cost simulations, online quoting and instant tracking of shipments have significantly improved the customer experience.

Our company is making strong investments in digitalization and automation to make end-to-end logistics operations more transparent and efficient. Thanks to IoT-based sensors and GPS technologies, the status of containers and vehicles can be monitored in real time. This increases operational transparency and allows for swift action against potential delays.

Automation systems come into play in the preparation of freight contracts, bills of lading and customs documents, minimizing the margin of error. Furthermore, AI-powered data analytics solutions enable more effective demand forecasting, route planning, and cost control. The self-service digital portals we’ve developed for our customers allow them to manage all shipping processes from a single point. Through these portals, customers can track shipment information, perform cost simulations, and receive direct support when needed.

How has restructuring affected Horoz Logistics’ international transportation network? What new opportunities are being targeted, particularly in the European, Middle Eastern, and Asian markets?

The shape and direction of trade is constantly changing, influenced by many global developments; accordingly, new destinations and demanded products are emerging. We adapt quickly to these changes. Our mission is to develop holistic solutions tailored to the needs of all our customers who demand end-to-end service within the organization and its framework.

In this regard, we increased our fleet and vehicle count with new supplier agreements. We have also invested in minivans, effective for project transportation and fast deliveries. In this way, our customers, that is, our service partners, can receive much more effective and uninterrupted service from a single source. We are strategically identifying our target markets in line with the new trade routes emerging in the global market. In 2025, in line with the current economic climate, our biggest goal is to increase efficiency. To achieve this goal, we expanded our effective service network to new destinations such as Europe, the Turkic Republics and Morocco. We have also launched direct transportation organizations from Europe to the Turkic Republics.

What new service models have you implemented to enhance the customer experience? How do you structure your relationships with business partners and global forwarder networks?

FOR THE YYS AND GREEN LOGISTICS CERTIFICATE

What is Horoz Logistics’ 5-year vision for the freight forwarding sector? What kind of flexibility is targeted for the changing dynamics in the sector? How will this transformation contribute to the company’s steps toward becoming a global brand?

As Horoz Logistics, our 5-year vision in the freight forwarding field is based on providing our customers with end-to-end integrated, fast and reliable logistics solutions while continuously increasing operational efficiency and sustainability. To this end, we have strengthened our competence in express delivery, project transportation, and rail transportation.

We continue our efforts to continuously improve cost and transfer processes along with the increasing diversity of destinations and routes. This flexibility allows us to quickly adapt to the changing dynamics in the sector and provide our customers with reliable service under all circumstances.

In addition, steps such as our applications for AEO and green logistics certificates reinforce our commitment to both operational excellence and sustainability. All these developments strengthen Horoz Logistics’ position as a global brand, while making our customer experience and service network more effective and reliable worldwide.

The main theme of this year’s FIATA Congress is “Green and Resilient Logistics.” What kind of work are you carrying out at Horoz Logistics on these issues?

We believe that investments in sustainability and carbon emission reduction will rapidly increase in the coming years. We expect significant developments, particularly in the use of electric vehicles. This transformation is not solely driven by environmental concerns; Regulations and changing customer expectations are also accelerating this process. Developments such as the effective use of unmanned aerial vehicles in the defense industry will also impact the logistics sector. The proliferation of driverless autonomous transportation modes, the development of digital tracking systems, and the introduction of artificial intelligence-supported operational systems will be some of the most important transformations that will shape our industry in the coming period. The vast majority of our passenger cars and domestic distribution vehicles are electric. We also organize some of our international road transport via rail or autonomous transportation routes. Our sustainability efforts are supported by the meticulous monitoring and management of our company activities by a professional team. We will soon complete our applications for the Green Logistics certificate.
